The Mediator:  Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, is the divinely appointed mediator between God and man.  (Acts 4:12)

Repentance:  This is grace given to one who is made aware by the Holy Spirit of the manifold evil of his sin, as he humbles himself for it with godly sorrow, detestation of it, and self-abhorrence and endeavors to walk with God so as to please Him in all things.  (Luke 13:3-5)

Perseverance of the Saints:  Those whom God has accepted through Christ and sanctified by His Spirit will never totally fall away from the state of Grace but shall persevere to the end.  However, they may fall into sin through neglect and temptation, whereby they grieve the Spirit, impair their graces, bring reproach on the church, and temporal judgments on themselves.  Yet through repentance they shall be renewed again.  (John 10:27-29)

The Church:  The Lord Jesus is the Head of the Church, composed of all His true disciples, and in Him is invested supremely all power for its government.  He commands Christians to associate themselves into a local body of believers.  He has given the church authority for administering discipline and worship.  And the church officers are Pastors and Deacons.

What We Believe

Parker Road Baptist Church affirms, endorses and supports the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.

Salvation:  We believe the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments were given by inspiration of God, and are the only sufficient, certain and authoritative rule of all saving knowledge, faith and obedience.  (II Timothy 3:16-17)

God:  We believe there is but one God, the Maker, Preserver and Ruler of all things, having in and of himself all perfections and being infinite in them all; and to Him all creatures owe the highest love, reverence and obedience.  (Exodus 20:3)

The Trinity:  God is revealed to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, each with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence or being.  (Matthew 28:19)

The Fall of Man:  God originally created man in His own image and free of sin.  Through the temptation of Satan, man sinned and fell from his original holiness and righteousness.  Because of this, man's posterity inherits a corrupt nature, and as soon as a child becomes capable of moral action, he becomes a transgressor.  (Romans 3:23)
